STiX

Originally created for the Lunacy Festival in 2012, the installation went to Lucidity Festival the following year and came back again for a final showing in 2017.

STiX is a simple idea: paint 1″ x 2″ pieces of wood with stripes that match the “stepping” colors of RGB LED floodlights. Randomly screw the sticks together to create long immersive “walls” to line a road or pathway, then turn the lights on. As the lights flash different colors the STiX continuously change theirs in response.

In nature, STiX is like an abstract field of grass.
